Sandwich Runner is a free-running mobile game. In the game, players have to collect the ingredients while they are going on through parkour. It is said that this game was launched by DWANGO, a fun action game with the background of collecting meat, eggs, vegetables, and other sandwich ingredients. As a popular parkour game in Europe and America, "sandwich runner" can be seen everywhere in Japanese style elements, like, strange shapes, exquisite ingredients, standard sushi, which reminds users that this game comes from Japan with beautiful scenery and many delicacies.

One of the highlights of this game is that it incorporates food elements based on parkour, which makes the game more interesting. In "sandwich runner", players use two slices of bread to pick various ingredients on their way to a goal. These ingredients, consisting of steak, eggs, greens, sushi, and other ingredients, can reach an astonishing amount under the vigorous collection of players. These food ingredients give players a huge sense of achievement. After all, who doesn't want to have more ingredients? Players are thinking about how to collect healthy food while trying to avoid rotten ingredients, which is an important aspect of the player winning. Because many rotten and spoiled foods, as well as fiery red peppers, will also cause great harm to the diners at the bottom of the gate because of the irritating taste. How this is in line with our actual life, it seems to tell people not to try spoiled ingredients.

In addition, the gameplay of this game is also very interesting. "Sandwich runner" uses the basic gameplay of parkour without incorporating a lot of other content. In addition, the various obstacles that appear at the level will directly restrict the number of raw materials collected by the user. Therefore, players must learn to avoid these obstacles and collect more abundant ingredients to reach the bottom of the level. In the game, you can choose a variety of ingredients, and after collecting a certain amount, it will turn into a super big burger. These growths will make you feel a sense of accomplishment. After reaching the goal, the player will feed the ingredients to those who need them, which is the ultimate goal of the player.

The art style of this game is also very pleasing. Although the art style of "sandwich runner" also adopts the 3D cartoon style, the details of the picture show an opposite effect to that of Europe and the United States. Compared with competing products from European and American manufacturers, this work provides a rather refined solution in terms of the size of the collected ingredients and the detailed depiction of the collected ingredients. Delicate and lovely shapes are presented to the fullest. From the actual experience, "sandwich runner" is still outstanding among similar products in terms of theme and gameplay, and the setting of changing skins is inherited from European and American competing products, which is typical. Moreover, what makes this game feel intimate is the prop size and rich picture details that seem to be the same but have great differences. After all, the delicate Japanese game makers are world-renowned for their fine-grained detailing of games.

However, I think the biggest downfall of this game is that its activities are relatively monotonous and lack changes. For example, in every seven days a week, players have the same tasks every day, doing specific tasks at specific times. This makes it difficult for gamers to persist for a long time because it will feel more boring. So I think this game still needs a lot of innovation and changes.

To sum up, I think that if you like parkour games, if you have a soft spot for building sandwiches, and if you want to try action parkour games from Japanese manufacturers, then please don’t miss this “sandwich runner” easily.

Sandwich Runner as its title suggest, is a running game that combines a food-stacking element. The content of the game is all about making the super mega gigantic sandwich with all sorts of ingredients and garnishes while players are running down the game lane until they reach the finish line, where a big open mouth is waiting for the sandwiches. The performance and score of the player are dependent on the “flavor” of the sandwich, which is displayed through the reaction of the character who eats the sandwich. Different ingredients choices and portions would influence the flavor and tastiness of the sandwich. Sometimes it can get too spicy and deduct your score; other times, when you make the mixture of ingredients right, the guy with big mouth would be very happy about the food and you earn a huge score for your talented sandwich-making skills.

There are many levels with a wide range of ingredients choices. The gameplay is not complicated and there are basically two motions being involving in the game: players set on an auto-run track filled with different food ingredients, therefore they do not really -run- on their own with a speed concern. Instead, their main control is to make decisions on pickups and to doge obstacles. To make the sensible decisions on food choices, players should always avoid inappropriate items such as the randomly distributed faeces/poop for very obvious reason, i.e. this is sandwich-making for human character! Besides, players should also think practically in selecting ingredients to combine their unique flavor. Too salty or too spicy is always a downside of your potential score. Of you’re not completely cooking-savvy, then probably try to create a diversity of ingredients in your sandwich— the more the merrier! Usually a good mixture of different veggies and proteins would generate a satisfying eater reaction at the end. Just like in reality, bad ingredients may make the eater upset and sick; adding too much hot chili peppers would definitely set a fire on the tongue. All these potential flavors are very likely to take a huge bite of your scores as well. Playing through the sandwich-piling game, players will be rewarded with coins and gold too. With those, they can purchase new fancy skins to decorate their sandwiches instead of using the default white bread.

This game is very easy for players to get started as the game rule and control mechanism are not complicated at all. There might be some obstacles and certain avoidances along the way, but the real challenge in the game is to make good decisions, which is also the fun part of the game. On the one hand, it allows players to make all the wild flavor combos as they possibly can and sometimes that may bring extreme water reactions; on the other hand, it is also a great opportunity for players to try out many potentially good or bad sandwich ideas that they might not be able to try in real life. Therefore, it is a super relaxing game with hilarious twists. It can surely brings some good laughters in your life.

That being said, I still would like to point out the downsides of the game and their potential improvements. First, the game doesn’t really integrates a real performance-related upgrading mechanism. Players can certainly win a good amount of coins through their gaming or by watching ads. Yet those coins are somehow pointless except for the purchases on fancy skins. Other than that, players cannot really use the coins to boost up their game results or unlock more interesting features. Plus the game can be quite repetitive at certain point, which is kind of unavoidable for most running games. However, it might incorporate some mini-games or side events into the main game, so that players can get refreshing experience on and off the actual gameplay.
